Addendum: please note that this post was made earlier today when there was not a bed available for pediatric patients when we inquired about one. We are told that there are some beds available around the state. The point of the post was NOT to insinuate that the hospitals were full of pediatric COVID patients. There are a number of reasons that there is a scarcity of beds. Some of it is staffing (nursing shortage) and a lot of it is RSV or other illnesses/injuries. The point is you can take a vaccine to prevent possible COVID hospitalization but not for many other things. We are just asking everyone to do what they can to help a strained hospital situation. ThanksWe have been notified that there are no available pediatric hospital beds in the state. We have been told that children needing hospitalization are being transferred to Texas. We have personally confirmed this with local hospitals. Please take this Delta variant seriously. If you have not vaccinated your child and they are 12 years or older please get them vaccinated as soon as possible. The mRNA vaccines (Pfizer and Moderna) are very safe and very effective at preventing disease. We also believe that children should be wearing masks when school starts this year. The data and research supports both these facts. Stay well. Owasso Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine ... See MoreSee Less

We are beginning to vaccinate patients aged 12 years and older with Pfizer vaccine for COVID-19. Due to the strict cold storage nature of the vaccine we have to schedule these appointments and CANNOT do "drop-ins". We will be scheduling 30 appointments for Monday, 5/24 and 30 appointments for Wednesday, 5/26. If you would like one of these appointments then please call the office to schedule it. A few words on the vaccines below:The pfizer vaccine is a 2 dose series with the 2nd dose being at least 21 days after the first. There is NO charge for the vaccine. We will bill your insurance company for the nurse time and storage fee (like we do all vaccines) but the government has paid for the actual vaccine and provided it to us.We will be adding Monday and Wednesday afternoon COVID vaccination clinics for the future but we will be seeing how busy we are before we determine how many are actually needed. Reminder that if our times don't work for your family, your child can get vaccinated through St. Francis Hospital and this can be scheduled through their website or at most pharmacies. Please contact your local pharmacy to check but we know that Walgreen's is receiving doses daily to immunize at certain locations. Thank you all for being so great during this rough time. We are all ready to get back to our regular routines. Thanks! ... See MoreSee Less
